Data Deletion Instructions

Your Right to Delete Your Data

We respect your right to control your personal data. You may request deletion of any data we have collected through your interactions with Your Look at any time. This page explains what data we may have, how to request deletion, and what happens after deletion.

What Data We May Have Collected

Through your use of Your Look via Instagram, we may have collected the following information:

Personal Information

  • Instagram User ID: A unique identifier from your Instagram account
  • Instagram Username: Your public Instagram handle (e.g., @yourusername)

Interaction Data

  • Comments: The text of comments you made on our Instagram posts
  • Interaction Logs: Records of when we sent you responses, including timestamps
  • Media References: Which Instagram posts you interacted with

What We Do NOT Store

  • Your Instagram password or login credentials
  • Your email address or phone number (unless you provided it directly)
  • Payment or financial information
  • Your private messages or DM history (we only have records of messages we sent)

How to Request Data Deletion

You have several options to request deletion of your data:

Email Request (Recommended)

Send an email to our support team with your deletion request:

Please include your Instagram username in the email so we can locate your data.

Remove App Access via Instagram

You can revoke our app's access to your Instagram account:

  1. 1.Open the Instagram app and go to your Profile
  2. 2.Tap the menu (☰) → Settings and privacy
  3. 3.Go to Website permissions → Apps and websites
  4. 4.Find "Your Look" and tap Remove

Note: This revokes our access but does not automatically delete data already collected. For complete deletion, please also send an email request.

You can also manage app permissions through Meta's Accounts Center:

What Information We Need

To process your deletion request, please provide:

  • Your Instagram username (required) - So we can locate your data
  • Confirmation of ownership - Send the request from an email you control or provide verification that you own the Instagram account

We may need to verify your identity before processing the request to prevent unauthorized deletion of someone else's data.

Processing Timeline

After receiving your deletion request:

  • Acknowledgment: We will confirm receipt within 3 business days
  • Verification: We may contact you to verify your identity if needed
  • Deletion: Your data will be deleted within 30 days of verification
  • Confirmation: You will receive an email confirming deletion is complete

What Gets Deleted

Upon completion of your deletion request, we will permanently remove:

  • Your Instagram User ID and username from our records
  • All comments you made that we processed
  • All interaction logs associated with your account
  • Any other personal information linked to your Instagram account

What May Be Retained

We may retain certain anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you, such as:

  • Aggregate usage statistics (e.g., total number of interactions)
  • Technical logs required for security and fraud prevention (anonymized)

Additionally, we may retain information if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes, enforcing agreements).

What Happens After Deletion

Once your data is deleted:

  • No more responses: You will no longer receive automated responses fromYour Look when commenting on our posts
  • Fresh start: If you interact with our service again in the future, it will be treated as a new user
  • No recovery: Deleted data cannot be recovered, so please be certain before requesting deletion

For California Residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, please use the contact methods described above.

For European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Your request will be processed in accordance with GDPR requirements.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe we have not handled your request appropriately.
